Resident Evil is joining the Dead By Daylight universe this June.
In a recent Resident Evil Showcase, it was announced that the Resident Evil game franchise is crossing over with the Dead By Daylight universe. The stream featured multiple demos for Resident Evil: Village, along with the plots for new movies and Resident Evil 4’s concept. The stream was meant to promote the launch of Resident Evil: Village but was also used to announce the upcoming crossover.
The Resident Evil X Dead By Daylight crossover is taking place in order to celebrate the 25successfulyears of Resident Evil’s gaming franchise. A brief trailer was also showcased in order to excite the fans about the crossover. The trailer was just 24 seconds long so there not much that we can make of it but we have a few guesses.
Resident Evil X Dead By Daylight Crossover Trailer
The trailer began with an Umbrella corporation badge soaked in blood falling to the ground with a man screaming in pain in the background. The man is then shown hanging from a wooden device in the middle of a forest while there are noises which can be best described as the growls of the undead zombies. Ultimately darkness engulfs the screen and the trailer ends. After the trailer ended Mathieu Cote, the creative director of Behavior Interactive, congratulated Resident evil for its 25 years of horror.
“This is such an awesome new addition to our universe! If you had told us, five years ago when we launched, that one day we would be adding characters from the legendary Resident Evil world into our game, none of us would have believed you” he said.
What’s to be expected from the Resident Evil X Dead By Daylight crossover
The details about the crossover are still unknown. However when it comes to villains, Resident has a whole bunch of bad monstrous guys with nefarious motives like Albert Wesker, Tyrant, and Nemesis. Any one of these big bands might appear in crossover. The big question is whether or not will we witness the Resident Evil signature-style zombies in the game.
Also, this would be the first time Dead By Deadlight has collaborated with another gaming franchise, previously it also joined hands with Silent Hill. Time will tell how the gaming crossover turns out but considering the reputations of the two gaming franchises, one thing is for sure, the fans can expect a truckload of horror fun awaiting them in the future.
