Return of Ben Affleck as Batman in The Flash, his role puts significant implications for the future DCEU. He has joined DCEU with Zack Snyder’s Batman in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Ben Affleck has made appearances in Suicide Squad. Also, he has been assigned the lead role in Justice League. However, Affleck was planned to have a solo Batman movie along with other Justice League sequels. But, he has walked away in 2018.
The DCEU has always surprised its fans, and it continues to do so. Meanwhile, Ben Affleck is now set to appear as Batman once again in The Flash movie.
It appears that his role will be of a smaller duration but anyhow it is going to be a meaningful appearance. To add, after all, he is not the only one who is reprising the role. Michael Keaton is also set to reprise the version of his Batman in The Flash.
This is not making his return less surprising. It also illustrates how DCEU is moving towards the multiverse. The role of Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck increases the chances of huge ramifications in the future of DCEU.
Return of Ben Affleck as Batman in The Flash movie shows fans will be getting more Batman. The Flash will be having at least two different actors for the role. Robert Pattinson is scheduled to debut in The Batman (2021).
DCEU towards Multiverse
Fans will be having three different versions of Batman in a year. DCEU is embracing the multiverse with speed. Keaton and Affleck will be making appearances but, Robert Pattinson is, as of now, the present and future of Batman.
As Ben Affleck has moved away from The Batman in 2018, it appeared earlier like he has closed the doors for anyone to be a Batman.
In fact, the director of The Flash was surprised to learn Affleck’s interest in reprising the role.
Fans even hoped that Affleck could have his Batman script for HBO Max or some solo movie, but this seemed inaccurate.
This means Ben Affleck joined the DCEU because of a certain plan that was assigned to him by Zack Snyder. He was never in an intention to play Batman forever. Though he has agreed to return as Batman for The Flash, this does not necessarily mean that he will be playing the role for many years.
Maybe this is done to give a proper ending to his version of Batman in the DCEU.
