Ricky Gervais has completed the first draft of the script for After Life Season 3. The comedian has taken to Instagram to announce this exciting news on 3rd September.
He has posted a photograph of drafted scripts with a bottle of whiskey. The 59-year-old said, “This calls for a little celebration.”
And this actually went as a treat to his fans and followers.
One of the users praised Ricky Gervais and commented, “Can’t wait! You are bloody wonderful… says it as it is and loves animals… the best a man can get.”
A second commented, “Omg is this really happening??? The BEST writing EVER.”
While another one added, “Oommmggggggg so exciting! Cannot wait!”
Ricky Gervais has confirmed this year earlier that the dramedy would be returning for a 3rd installment. This has delighted his adoring army of fans.
Though, according to Ricky Gervais, it would be the last of the series.
While speaking to The Sun, he said, “I’ve already made my mind up – there just won’t be a fourth.”
“You never say never but you put those things out there to make you remember because it’s tempting, it’s very tempting.”
Ricky Gervais is Comparing His Role To Conductor Of An Orchestra
Gervais said it is important to know when to stop, he said so while comparing his role to that of conductor of an orchestra.
He said, “The audience thinks they want another one but they don’t know, they’re not sure, so you’ve got to be careful.”
Gervais will be taking on the role of Tony in After Life Season 3, who is struggling to come to terms with the demise of his wife. He also strives to improve his relationship with other people in his life.
He told LADbible, “I’ve never had a reaction like this, so there is that [sense of] ‘Oh, I could only ruin it’, you know what I mean? So you’ve got to try and make it better.”
“Which is good, it’s a good state of mind to be in, it’s good pressure. I’ve got to make this better than before – that’s a lovely pressure to have as a writer.”
“That’s not a reason not to do a second series because the first one went down so well… Most people want it the other way – they want too many series because they think it’s their favorite show.”
“I get that, as a viewer I get it, but as an artist, you have got to get out a bit early. But as I say, this is the first one I’ve – I think I’m gonna do a third because the world we’ve created is too good and rich.”
