Robert Pattinson has come up with some revelations about the Tenet director.
Cristopher Nolan has a few secrets about Tenet. As revealed in The Irish Times, Robert Pattinson said, he has tried to sneak away from the sets. He has blamed his “family emergencies” during a screen test for Matt Reeves The Batman. But Nolan was knowing about what he was up to.
Pattison told The Irish Times, “It’s funny because Chris is so secretive about everything to do with his movies”. “And then I had to be really secretive about ‘Batman’ stuff. So I had to lie to Chris about having to go for a screen test — I said I had a family emergency. And as soon as I said ‘it’s a family emergency’ he said: ‘You’re doing the Batman audition, aren’t you?’”
At the end of the year 2019, Pattinson was to replace Ben Affleck as the Caped Crusader, with Armie Hammer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Nicholas Hoult. However, his casting was announced on May 31, it was leaked 2 weeks earlier that made him “fucking furious”.
Playing Batman was Helpful For Tenet
In a piece in The Irish Times, Robert Pattinson has even said that the regime for suiting up while playing Batman was helpful for his Tenet opposite former player John David Washington (footballer).
He said, “When I’m running on screen I’m generally paired with John David who is an ex-NFL player so it was the most unfair thing in the world,” Pattinson said. “The maximum workout I do most of the time is a casual stroll. John David can run all day long. It was good that I ended up being pretty fit. But definitely, in the beginning, there were days I just could not walk afterward.”
He has also talked about the set that was demanded by Tenet. It includes a film’s harrowing car chase sequence. He said, “There was a scene where we went about five miles of a freeway in Estonia with hundreds of cars.” “So John David gets in the passenger seat and Chris is like just following the camera car. Take it easy the first time. John David turned to me and said: ‘Are you like a really good driver or something? So I’m s***ting myself as I’m whipping between cars at 80 miles an hour and Chris is behaving like this is completely normal.”
Tenet has already delayed the release date three times due to the pandemic.
“Tenet” is set to begin rolling out internationally on August 26, followed by the theaters that it can in the US on September 3.
The production of “The Batman” will resume in September, which was halted in March.
