The second-generation Razr by Motorola is on its way.
Motorola relaunched the Razr earlier this year. The Razr was relaunched by modernizing the iconic flip phone with a foldable display, it is Android and has a $1500 price tag. However, it fell short due to the creaky hinge and poor camera. The phone was having a lackluster battery life. Now it is all to redeem the first foldable with second-generation Razr by Motorola. This adds 5G support, better cameras, and useful software.
The design of the new Razr looks similar to the original one. It has a 6.2 inch, 21.9:9 foldable display on the inside of the phone. Also, it has a 2.7 inch OLED “Quick View” display on the outside of the phone. It has a high price tag just like the older version. It is only $100 less than its predecessor.
However, it has a number of changes. It has a processor that is a faster Snapdragon 765G. The RAM is now increased to 8GB. Also, the internal storage is increased to 256GB. The all-new second-generation Razr by Motorola will be having 2800mAh.
The company is now shifting the fingerprint sensor to the back of the phone in the second generation Razr by Motorola.
The second-generation Razr by Motorola will have better changes
The original Razr had a 5-megapixel selfie camera and a 16-megapixel main camera. The second-generation Razr by Motorola model will be changing both the fronts. The internal camera is a 20-megapixel sensor that shoots quad pixel 5-megapixel stills. The rear camera is now 48 megapixels having a newly added laser autofocus time to flight sensor.
Another big addition is 5G. However, it is less interesting than Motorola is making it seem. Especially for a phone that costs $1399. The second-generation Razr by Motorola will support sub-6GHz networks.
The second-generation Razr by Motorola will be more accessible, the original was a Verizon exclusive in the US, whereas the new will be sold unlocked and through AT&T and T-Mobile.
Also, the second generation Razr by Motorola is underlining software modifications, with expanded functionality for the outer display. The fresh software operates more like normal Android and gives access to a variation of apps, like Google Maps, YouTube, games, and the ability to react to text messages without having to unlock the phone.
The biggest thing missing from the announcement of the second generation Razr by Motorola is any explicit improvement to the hinge system. It was one of the massive questions with the original model. Motorola explains that it has “collected feedback from Razr owners,” and the second generation Razr by Motorola should last up to five years of everyday use from even a regular user who flips their phone open and close 100 times a day. But there’s mention of certain improvements.
The second-generation Razr will be available later this fall for $1,399.99 at B&H Photo, Amazon, Best Buy, and Motorola’s website.
