Will Maeve and Otis ever clear their misunderstandings? Will Eric and Adam finally confess their feelings? Will Ola and Lily stay together? The fans of the popular Netflix show Sex Education have been asking all these questions ever since the last episode of the second season came out in early 2020. However, the most frequently asked question is, “When will Sex Education Season 3 come out?”
Sex Education has been one of the most liked shows on Netflix that has been well received by both the critics and the audience. First premiering in January 2019, this show has opened several doors for discussions on unconventional topics regarding sex. Here is everything we know about the third installment of this popular web show.
Sex Education Season 3 Release Date.
Fans have been asking the question of when Sex Education Season 3 will be released and we are elated to say that they might get their answers very soon. Netflix announced the third season of the comedy back in February 2020 with a teaser featuring principal Groff of Moordale High (Alistair Petrie), who is seen walking the halls of the high school looking at pictures of the show’s beloved characters predicting about what the future can have in store for them. The teaser however doesn’t give a release date and tells the fans to look forward to the third season. The show was all set to release in 2020 but the pandemic hindered the production process making it impossible for the producers to release it last year. Nonetheless, the crew began filming again in September 2020, and it has been reported that the team has already finished the shooting of sex education season 3. Thus the answer to the question of when the third season of Sex Education comes out will most likely be mid 2021.
New addition to the cast.
Netflix has not yet produced the entire list of the confirmed cast members for the 3rd season but we assume that every character that was shown in the teaser will return to the show. Given that a huge part of the last season depended so heavily on the entire ensemble cast and their individual subplots, we can be positive to see a number of old cast members returning. This will most likely include the two main leads Otis Milburn ( Asa Butterfield) and Dr. Jean Milburn (Gillian Anderson) and a bunch of the supporting crew such as Maeve Wiley (Emma Mackey), Adam Groff (Connor Swindells) , Eric Effiong (Ncuti Gatwa) and a few others. Besides this Netflix also announced some interesting new faces that are all set to join the cast, namely Jason Isaac who will play Peter Groff, artist Dua Saleh who will be playing a returning student, and Jemima Karke who will play the new headmistress.
What to expect from Sex Education Season 3
The last season of Sex Education ended with a cliffhanger with Otis confessing his love for his long time crush, Maeve, and Maeve’s new love interest deleting the confession. Fans are left wondering whether Otis and Maeve will ever get to know each other’s true feelings and will they ever get together. This “will they won’t they” predicament is finally set to reach a conclusion this season and we cannot wait! On the other hand, we shall get to see how the relationship between Adam and Eric transpires amidst all the confusions. Dr. Jane will also be seen appreciating her on again off-again relationship with Jacob, Otis’ father, all thanks to Mrs. Groff who seemed to have formed a strong friendship with Dr. Jane by the end of last season. We might also get a sub plot surrounding Ruby (Mimi Keene), who has become a fan favourite after the last season. Besides this the show promises to openly discuss more Asexuality, virginity and many other “taboo” topics. In the second season we saw the writers take the creative decision of straying away a bit from Otis and focusing on the other characters as well. We can expect the third season to also do the same and provide us with a beautiful experience like the last two times.
