When talking about a significant DCU appearance in Shazam! Jack Dylan Grazer, who starred in Fury of the Gods, appears to ruin another film for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
Shazam! Jack Dylan Grazer, who starred in Fury of the Gods, might have given away a key Justice League member’s appearance in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
In a Fandom Entertainment interview with co-star Asher Angel, who plays Freddy Freeman from the Shazam Family in the DC Universe, Grazer talked about Gal Gadot’s appearance as Wonder Woman in the movie Fury of the Gods. Gal Gadot flew in from London that day and inquired, “Are you making the Shazam! movie?” Grazer described his experience on set. Gadot is then described as “mystique” and comparing her to a mermaid, Grazer recalls Gadot adding, “You guys are filming Shazam! 2. I just left the Aquaman set. It’s great to see you again.”
The DCU movies Shazam! (2019) and Aquaman (2018) were followed by the sequels Shazam! Fury of the Gods and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which began filming in mid-2021 and will both be released in 2023. Gadot may have simply stopped by The Lost Kingdom’s set on her way to record her cameo in Fury of the Gods, but it’s also possible that she also recorded parts for the Aquaman 2 movie. Gadot had just “gotten off the set of Aquaman,” according to Grazer, when she arrived on the set for her appearance in Fury of the Gods, and she was already dressed as Wonder Woman.
DC Just Can’t Keep Wonder Woman’s Appearances a Secret
The third DC Universe film in 2023 to have a Wonder Woman cameo revealed before its release if Gadot does appear in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Director David F. Sandberg issued a warning for anyone wanting to “go in fresh” because Fury of the Gods movie trailers revealed Wonder Woman makes an appearance. The Funko POP! figures made public for the film The Flash, which came out between Fury of the Gods and The Lost Kingdom, show that it also stars Wonder Woman.
The DCU Future of Wonder Woman Is Unknown
The destiny of Gadot’s Wonder Woman in the DC Universe has not yet been determined as of this writing. The only Wonder Woman-related project mentioned as part of the duo’s intentions after the DC Studios restructuring that saw James Gunn and Peter Safran appointed as co-CEOs is Paradise Lost, a prequel series examining Themyscira, often known as “Paradise Isle,” the location of Wonder Woman’s home. In December 2022, there was a report that Gadot had been kicked out of the DC Universe, to which Gunn did reply, saying, “I’m not sure where you’re hearing that we ‘booted’ Gal.” The DCU’s newest chapter, “Gods and Monsters,” will feature Wonder Woman, and he has since hinted that she may show up sooner rather than later.
