Sony Need To Develop Their Studios To Bolster PS5 Lineup

Sony has to consider adopting new development in studios, much like what Microsoft is trying to do recently.

Recently Sony said it will consider developing new studios to maintain the Playstation 5 lineup of video games. As for now, Microsoft is focusing on this particular area as they ha recently paid for ZeniMax Media with several prominent development studios on board.

While Sony is doing fine with its PlayStation but somewhere Xbox is lacking a considerable amount of titles that could’ve been considered strong selling points. To encounter this kind of situation, Microsoft was already preparing itself as in recent years Microsoft has purchased and established around a dozen of Studios. The latest gain Microsoft made has proved to be the biggest for the company so far – Xbox bought ZeniMax for $7.5 billion, which helped secure talents of Bethesda, id Software, Arkane, and other world-famous teams. While Microsoft is still silent when it comes to commenting about the new plans regarding these new studios, it seems like the company is developing these new assets to invest in the new Xbox.

Despite how hard competitors are trying, Sony’s PlayStation 5 pre-order period has rocked the market off. The company managed to sell more consoles during the PlayStation 5 pre-order period than the first 12 weeks of the PS4 life cycle. It seems like the community is greatly impressed by the new devices, yet Sony hasn’t been focusing on new developments as much Microsoft is looking at it. As per the Interview is given by SIE CEO Jim Ryan to Reuters the company might consider doing so in the foreseeable future if there’s a strong demand for more exclusive games, in a break from its usual policy of building up existing in-house studios.

Sony has never disappointed fans when it comes to releasing exclusive games and franchises for its group of consoles and there is no reason to think that Sony is somewhere going to disappoint PS5’s upcoming lineup. The existing in-house team has already proved themselves, so there is no doubt that they are going to deliver what the community has demanded. On top of that, the solid start of pre-orders indicates that Sony could rest on its laurels for quite some time since gamers are hugely interested in PS5 despite Microsoft’s aggressive acquisition strategy, which doesn’t seem interested in following.
