In Amazing Spiderman #53.LR, Peter Parker’s allies in the Order of the Web face powerful demons from the web-slinger’s past to save him.
Now Spiderman is facing the cost of the mistakes he made in his past especially during the event of “One More Day” in which Peter and Mary Jane sacrificed their love and marriage to Mephisto in exchange for some more breadth for Aunt May. Now, Peter’s friends and closest allies are forced to fight the literalized demon from his past.
In Amazing Spider, Spiderman had to relive the event following “One More Day” where he was attending Harry Osborn’s welcome party, where he saw his love, Mary Jane Watson. But now the worlds are exchanged and in this world, they are not married and Harry never lost his life.
In Amazing Spiderman #53, peter’s friends and allies are trying to find him and save his life. While Doctor Strange took the order of the Web into the spidy’s astral plane, which is nothing like what they saw when they were there last time. As the Doctor said there is evil there a series of demons that attacked them who have some knots tied with “One Day More”.
Spiderman’s attack on demons
The first attack was by four armored demons with some guns, who tried to take the life of Spider-Gwen and Madame Web. This was a bladder version of Jake Martino whom the Kingpin hired to take down Spiderman. However, he missed the shot and that bullet hit aunt May instead. This triggered Spiderman and he wanted to beat Martino till his death but in between a second assassin took Martino’s life. That led to a second attack by Wilson Fisk, the kingpin who hired Jake Martino to take down Spiderman.
After this Spiderman’s foes were forced to face the demonic version of Aunt May and Mary Jane. When May was taking her last breath Spiderman asked Doctor Strange for his help but Doctor Strange was unable to do anything. However, Mephisto later stepped in and offered to save May’s life, at a cost.
This comes directly out of the pages of the final issue of “One More Day.” In Amazing Spider-Man #545, by J. Michael Straczynski and Joe Quesada, Mephisto offers to save Aunt May but only by wiping the marriage of Peter and MJ out of existence. Mary Jane’s exact words to Mephisto is “the answer is yes.” She asks Peter to be the hero he knows he is, and he agreed as well, and everything changed. The second that the demonic MJ said, “The answer is yes,” Doctor Strange said, “I knew it,” and it’s clear he knows Peter and MJ made a deal with Mephisto.
