Spotify has launched a merch hub featuring items from the artists on your Wrapped list

Show your support for your top Spotify Wrapped artists and browse exclusive artist merchandise through a curated selection in the app.

Spotify is giving fans the opportunity to show their appreciation for their favorite artists by offering official artist merchandise in the app. In addition to a feed for upcoming live events, the audio-streaming service is becoming a convenient destination for music enthusiasts to purchase clothing, accessories, posters, and other physical formats of their favorite artist’s albums. With this feature, Spotify is positioning itself as a comprehensive hub for all things music.

Spotify has added a feature to the app that allows users to browse and purchase exclusive merchandise from their top artists in a single location. To view the available items for a particular artist, users can tap on the ‘Show all’ button next to the artist’s name and then click the ‘Buy Now’ button for any item they wish to purchase. This will redirect the user to the artist’s online store, where they will need to enter their contact, shipping, and payment information. Some artist stores also offer express checkout options such as PayPal or Google Pay.

Currently, it appears that Spotify users can only purchase one item at a time, as selecting additional items redirects the user to a separate checkout page with only the newly selected item.

If you want to purchase multiple items at once from your favorite artist’s online store, you can try the following:

  1. Take a look at the URL link of the checkout page and
  2. remove all the characters that come after ‘myshopify.com/’
  3. press the enter button on your device. This will remove the item previously added through Spotify from the cart and allow you to browse and select multiple items for purchase from the artist’s online store.

Spotify is offering an easy way for music fans to support their favorite artists by providing a shopping experience within the app, but the platform does not appear to receive a cut from sales. However, the artist’s online store may provide Spotify with information about orders placed on the third-party site, which the music service may use to better understand listener preferences and potentially improve future features. This feature provides artists with another source of revenue.
