Spotify is going to be HiFi? Let’s find out what it is!
Spotify music is now going to be Spotify “HiFi”. Yes, you heard it right! The leading music application Spotify recently announced a new lossless streaming tier that will allow listeners to get the most from their digital music library. (Isn’t it amazing?). Spotify announced the news on a virtual event “Stream On”.
When Spotify HiFi Will Be Release
Spotify HiFi will be available this year and will deliver music in CD quality, lossless audio format to your device and Spotify connect-enabled speakers, which means users will be able to experience more clarity while enjoying their favourite music.
The music application passed all the small tests of higher-quality and soon it’s going to launch the feature more widely—with the caveat that it’ll be available only “in select markets.”. However, its pricing is yet to be announced. As we all know Higher quality streaming has been among the top requests from its customer: as it stands today, Spotify tops out at 320kbps audio.
The Lossless Plan
In 2019, Amazon rolled out Amazon Music HD for its users. The cost of the lossless plan was $14.99 per month (or $12.99 for Prime customers), a premium over the standard Amazon Music Unlimited service. Meanwhile, Tidal has supported high-resolution audio since its very beginning and is priced slightly higher at $19.99 monthly for the “Hi-Fi” plan. In fact, Tidal offers “Tidal Master” that can even exceed high-resolution 96 kHz / 24-bit audio. And now, small services like Qobuz sought to appeal to audiophiles with lossless streaming.
On the other hand, Apple Music still lacks in lossless streaming. Despite the fact that Apple is selling very high-end AirPods Max headphones.
