A new video from the animated series Star Wars Galaxy makes Obi-Wanos exile on Tatooine more tragic.
A new Star Wars video highlights how tragic Obi-Wan’s exile was on Tatooine. Now several years after Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith, the legendary Jedi Master is getting the spotlight on his own Disney+ series, with Ewan McGregor stepping in his old role. But before that, a new video has released highlighting some of his unknown adventures.
As part of Disney’s efforts to make Star Wars accessible to all demographics, the House of Mouse has played an exceptionally smart move by launching Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures, a series that will take the fans back in their memory to revisit some key events. Debuting with Luke Skywalker’s story in 2018, animated shorts were available to watch on YouTube. Since then this has featured stories of some other characters from Star Wars such as Anakin Skywalker, R2-D2, Chewbacca, Princess Leia, Han Solo, and the newer characters such as Rey, Poe, Finn, and Kylo Ren. The latest episode spotted the light on Obi-Wan and his journey as a Jedi.
Posted on Star Wars’ official YouTube channel, the latest episode showed Obi-Wan’s as Ben Kenobi on Tatooine with scenes highlights done of his great moments in the franchise. Between the rousing theme in the background and an older Obi-Wan reminiscing about his days as a Jedi, which includes the death of his Jedi Master, Qui-Gon Jinn, and his falling out with Anakin, it’s difficult for a Star Wars fan not to get moved by the clip. It’s worth noting, however, that the video doesn’t include pivotal moments from Star Wars: The Clone Wars series, particularly the death of Empress Satine—Obi-Wan’s close friend and almost lover. Seeing that also play out in the video would’ve further highlighted how tragic his life had been, and still, he remained committed to his responsibility as a Jedi and caretaker of Luke Skywalker.
