Hopper is alive! Yes, you read that right. Netflix has the stranger things fans talking with the teaser trailer of the 4th season of the hit sci-fi thriller. Although the teaser trailer has been released quite some time back, the show is yet to come out as it couldn’t finish its shooting because of the pandemic. However, Netflix is positive to release it by summer 2022 which means the fans have to hold on for a bit longer.
The teaser, titled “From Russia with love”, starts by showing a bald, unrecognizable Hopper, who allegedly died in the last season. It confirmed the biggest theory that claimed that Hopper is in fact alive. He is seen working in a snowfield and by looking at the title it is clear that he is in Russia. While confirming the fact that Hopper is not dead, the producers have said he is in fact stuck in Russia, working on a snowy field in Kamchatka. This new place has come as a shock to the viewers as many theories claimed that Hopper was stuck in the infamous upside down.
What’s New In Stranger Things Season 4?
Apart from this new twist, several new faces are also introduced to the cast, the Duffer brothers have asked the fans to braise themselves to see new, exciting faces. Along with that a bunch of old cast members are also returning including Millie Bobby Brown(eleven), Noah Schnapp(Will), Winona Ryder, Sadie Sink(Max), Finn Wolfhard(Mike), Gaten Matarazzo(Dustin), and David Harbour(Hopper). Disappointing the fans the directors have confirmed that Dacre Kayd Montgomery(Billy), who was killed by the end of the 3rd season by Mind flayer monster, will not be returning for another season.
Stranger Things Season 4 Fans Theories
Now let’s come to some theories. As we saw at the end of the last season Eleven lost all of her powers of locating people using the void or moving things with her mind. Fans are speculating that the new season may witness her journey of regaining her powers. There’s also a threat of Russians in this season who are allegedly in the possession of the Demogorgon and might try to weaponize it. The focus of the fourth season will definitely be Eleven’s attempt to get her powers back, her quest for finding Hopper, and finally the Upside Down.
The Upside Down definitely is the main focus of attention in this season along with Hopper’s back story. The writers and directors have stated that this season will most definitely explore Hopper’s journey and background in-depth and many theories regarding him might get debunked or confirmed. The stranger writers’ Instagram page as well as David Harbour’s Instagram has been dropping numerous hints since last year, they might be hinting at the possibility of having twin characters, possibly two Demogorgons.
The announcement video that was dropped months ago said “we are not in Hawkins anymore” which somewhat confirms the speculation that the 4th season will be entirely focused on Russia. Some fans are also going as far as claiming there might be Russian twins mimicking eleven’s powers. Needless to say that Stranger Things 4 will definitely be power-packed.
On a lighter note, we shall most likely witness more of the fun relationship among Joyce, Eleven and will, who moved out of Hawkins at the end of the last season. Among those who stayed back we might get to see more of Max and Lucas’s relationship. Fans are also wondering if Eleven and Mike will get back together or will their relationship be tested again.
Stranger Things is arguably one of the few shows that has managed to get good ratings from viewers even after multiple seasons, while other shows often fall flat after the first season. The third season of this sci-fi has managed to gain huge viewership and thus it will be interesting to see if the writers can land on the viewers’ expectations this time around.
There is a possibility that the hype for the show may die out because of the delay due to covid but one shouldn’t underestimate the strong fan base this show has garnered over the years. Nevertheless, it is only a matter of time before all our questions, speculations, and theories get answered by the Duffer brothers and Stranger things.
