Thanos’ Strength & Weaknesses
The Mad Titan Thanos is the Big Bad villain from Marvel comics. He is quite dangerous and possesses insane powers, which he has displayed from time to time, killing a whole lot of Marvel superheroes. He is popularly known for wielding the powers of the infinity stones, “The Most Powerful Objects” in the marvel universe, which grant the user numerous abilities. Thanos has used them in his quest for erasing half of all life in the universe, a quite spectacular feat. But Thanos is quite formidable even without the powerup from the infinity stones.
He comes from a race of powerful beings called the Eternals. Thanos in his base form has super strength, stamina, and durability along with invulnerability to all diseases and poisons. He can shoot energy projections and can also use magic to some extent in battle. Thanos stands out not just for Brute strength but in Intellect too, quoting his words from Avengers: Infinity War, “You are not the only one cursed with knowledge.” His intellect allows him to formulate strategies leading to victory in very dire and inescapable situations.
Superman’s Strengths & Weaknesses
Superman is basically a God-like being in the DC universe. He has a wide range of abilities with very few weaknesses to stop him. He possesses godlike strength, speed, stamina, durability along with impenetrable skin. He also possesses superhuman hearing and X-Ray vision. He can shoot eye beam lasers, and freeze breath from his mouth. He derives his powers by absorbing the energy from sunlight, therefore he has a nearly infinite source of power. His only known weaknesses include Kryptonite, Red spectrum sunlight, and magical attacks. He mostly holds back his strength and still easily overpowers all of his opponents. The true insane extent of his power was seen during the Silver Age when he accidentally destroys an entire solar system just by sneezing. That should give a clear idea of how insanely powerful the Man of Steel really is.
Possible Outcomes of The Battle
In a straight-up battle, Superman can likely overpower Thanos, although Thanos would definitely put up a good fight as he too has taken down two of Marvel’s strongest superheroes with a single slap. Also if Thanos is given time to prepare, he can also formulate a battle plan which would result in his victory. That being said, if Superman is lifted of his moral code of holding back, he may unleash unimaginable strength which no one can begin to comprehend. But then again if Thanos can use Magic, one of the few things that Superman is vulnerable to, giving Thanos the upper hand in battle. Taking all things into consideration, Superman would easily beat Thanos in a no-prep time death battle without any moral code.
