Reportedly Black Panther 2 will be bringing back the original supporting cast including Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke, and Angela Bassett.
Reportedly Black Panther 2 will be bringing back the original film’s supporting cast. Marvel will be kicking off the filming of Black Panther 2 in Atlanta starting July and will take more than six months if nothing goes wrong. The unexpected death of the lead Chadwick Boseman in the middle of the pandemic delayed the production as the director Ryan Coogler and the rest of Marvel grieved the loss of a legendary member of their team.
Though Boseman received a lot of praise and appreciation for his performance as King T’Challa in the original film and the amazing work of the supporting cast also came into highlight; the movie also won the award for Best Cast at the 2019 SAG Awards. Black Panther originally focused more on Family and Community that helped to enhance the dynamics of the cast. T’Challa’s brilliant sister, Shuri (Letitia Wright), and Ramonda, the Queen Mother (Angela Bassett), filled out T’Challa’s biological family, but the King also got a lot of support from advisor fighter spy Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o). Still, Wakanda wasn’t free of tension, and M’Baku, leader of the Jabari tribe (Winston Duke), frequently butted heads with T’Challa.
Whom We Can Expect To See In Black Panther 2?
According to a recent report by THR Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke, and Angela Bassett will be reprising their role in Black Panther 2. There are some speculations about Letitia Wright having a prominent role in Black Panther 2 and on her that she would love to accept this challenge if ever Shuri gets a chance to step in Black Panther’s Suit.
Perhaps some others are going to join the cast as Mexican actor Tenoch Huerta, star of Netflix’s Narcos, is in talks to be cast as one of the main antagonists. However, Marvel hasn’t said anything about their plan of producing Black Panther 2 with star lead Chadwick Boseman. They have said, though, that they do not intend to use CGI to place Boseman in the film. As the cast and crew grieve Boseman and reconsiders the plan for T’Challa moving forward, it will be interesting to see how the returning cast will factor into the new story in the works.
Some plots of Black Panther 2 are still in dark as the question that who is going to take the charge of Wakanda in the absence of T’Challa is still answered. Fans have to wait to hear more details about Black Panther 2.
