The Boys season 3 will add Soldier Boy to Vought’s ranks, and he’ll be competing for Homelander’s position. Could the opposite Seven members help?
When Amazon finally caught up with Billy Butcher and The Boys, Vought was recovering from a PR catastrophe. Once upon a time, Homelander might do no improper, however, after a collection of public outbursts and a romantic entanglement with a Nazi, his reputation began tumbling. Finally, Queen Maeve took the benefit to blackmail Homelander into submission, leaving the Seven’s chief in a much more weak position than he is accustomed to. The information solely will get worse for Homelander, as The Boys season 3 will introduce Soldier Boy, performed by Supernatural‘s Jensen Ackles.
About the e book
The comedian e-book iteration of Soldier Boy is a Captain America parody from WWII, very related in presentation to Homelander, however not fairly as wicked. Soldier Boy is a cowardly, naive superhero who desperately needs to affix the Seven, doing no matter Homelander asks of him in hopes of a promotion. Based on what’s identified about Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy in The Boys season 3 (and contemplating Homelander’s fall from grace), Amazon’s Soldier Boy could possibly be attempting to pressure his manner into the Seven’s management position as an alternative of sucking as much as Homelander.
Until now, Homelander has impressed such worry in his Seven colleagues, none dared transfer in opposition to him. Even after Queen Maeve constructed up the braveness to blackmail the milk-chugging madman, she did not go as far as to demand his resignation. This is partially as a result of Homelander is just too beneficial to Vought, however the emergence of Soldier Boy modifications the sport – instantly, there is a viable different to the present regime. And with Antony Starr’s character at his lowest ebb, Maeve, A-Train and Starlight have a golden likelihood to exchange their shared nemesis with a somebody who does not pleasure themselves atop skyscrapers or burn holes by harmless bystanders.
Spoilers ahead for the Season 2
The Boys is finally back in action with new episodes, and it’s already clear that the show didn’t lose any of its edge over hiatus. To Hughie and the rest of the titular “Boys,” Vought and the Supes are still the big bads who need to be stopped, but the premiere proved that Homelander is in trouble with Vought as well. Vought CEO Stan Edgar wasn’t happy with Homelander going rogue and the reveal of Compound V to the world, and the result was a lecture that delivered The Boys’ first mention of Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy.
According to Stan Edgar in The Boys Season 2, Soldier Boy was turned into the first Supe for the Allies during World War II, and he was “killing Germans by the dozen.” These comments back up Eric Kripke’s statement that JensenAckles’ Soldier Boy will be “the very first Superhero” who brings “humor, pathos, and danger.” Like how Homelander and Queen Maeve are clear taking on Superman and Wonder Woman, Soldier Boy is a Boys take on Captain America.
Did the early Compound V grant him the ability to never age, allowing him to join the action in the present? Or will he appear in flashbacks?
Personally, I’m wondering if he’ll have ties to Stormfront. In the comics, Stormfront is the first successful Compound V recipient, but for the Nazis rather than the Allies. The show has turned Stormfront into (seemingly, at least) a young woman, and it’s looking like Soldier Boy might have gotten part of the Stormfront backstory. That said, it’s possible that Soldier Boy and Stormfront are somehow going to be set as opposite sides of the same Supe coin, created around the same time to fight for opposite sides.
Only time will tell. For some current and upcoming viewing options on top of The Boys, be sure to check out our 2020 fall TV premiere schedule. Stay tuned .
