The director Bryan Singer got in trouble as the X-Men 2 movie cast supposedly frightened to quit the show. The superhero movies in the Hollywood took a high speed after X-Men’s debut in 2000. The whole new franchise of X-Men started, thereafter.
Moreover, this year has struck the 20th anniversary of the X-Men. We should also not forget what Singer has done. He has during all these years worked a lot to bring in life this legacy that he has made. Meanwhile, he has dealt with lawsuits against him, filed by teenage boys who claim that Singer has assaulted them sexually. Also, in the year 2019, an article was issued by The Atlantic. This article had 20 years of allegations. The director has also been accused of misconduct on the movie sets. In 2017, due to his rude behavior, the director, Bryan Singer got fired from Bohemian Rhapsody. Now, the latest reports are suggesting another misbehaving account of Singer with the cast of X-Men.
What happened on the sets of X-Men?
An incident that happened on the sets of X-Men where the director, Bryan Singer, and producer, Tom DeSanto got into a fight. The fight was regarding shutting off the production. The producer, DeSanto wanted to close it down as Singer has consumed an unfit narcotic along with the crew members. Therefore, DeSanto was worried that somebody might hurt himself during the shoot. But Singer didn’t listen to his advice and went on to record a stunt. The stunt was not planned for that day and there was no stunt coordinator present at that moment. While performing this stunt, Jackman injured himself severely and he started bleeding on camera. The whole studio supported Singer, who was supposedly at fault and asked DeSanto to leave.
However, the main cast except for Rebecca Romijn and Ian McKellen, threatened the studio and Singer that they will leave if DeSanto left. During the heat of the moment, Halle Berry told Singer, “You can kiss my Black ass.”
Brandom Routh and Sophie Turner spoke against Bryan Singer
This is not the first time that instances of Singer’s rude behaviors are surfacing. In the past also many actors and producers have said negative things about Singer. Also, Brandon Routh has narrated how badly Singer would behave on the sets of Bohemian Rhapsody. Sophie Turner who featured in X-Men: Apocalypse said that Singer was not at all pleasant.
For all those years, Singer continued to do what he always did exploiting others and behaving badly with then. And what’s shocking is that X-Men Studio and Hollywood continued to work with such a pervert. Fortunately, people are coming forward in this age of social media to share their stories. Also, movements like MeToo and Time’s Up has made expressing oneself and share one’s stories even more comfortable. How Hollywood’s big players misuse their powers is coming to light. Important steps must be taken by Hollywood to keep people like Singer away from the industry. Steps should be taken in this direction so that not another star faces what Jackman faced on the set.
