After nine intense and great seasons suits officially wrapped up its captivating storyline, but the USA Network legal drama might continue with Gina Torres-led spin-off, Pearson.
USA Network’s Suits completed its nine-year run on September 25, 2019, with its ninth season, giving us all very little hope for the tenth season. suits is a series created by Aaron Korsch and produced by Universal Cable Productions premiered on June 23, 2011, on the USA network, and ever since then, it’s been successful in consistently capturing the attention of the audience.
After the first episode was released, it received wide attention and recognition for its witty script captivating cast and a unique setting for a law firm consequently the show was renewed for a second season in august 2011 and began airing in June 2012. They pursued it for a decade and in 2019 they announced that they have decided to wrap up and release Season 9 as the premiere. At the time Suits was renewed for a ninth and final season in January, creator Aaron Korsh predicted that the series will “probably end with some happiness and some sadness.” And that is the series finale he delivered. But viewers were still waiting for one more season.
Suits is set at a fictional New York City law firm and follow talented college dropout Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams), who starts working as a law associate for Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) despite never having attended law school. The show focuses on Harvey and Mike closing cases while maintaining Mike’s secret. The show also features the characters Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman), Rachel Zane (Meghan Markle), Donna Paulsen (Sarah Rafferty), and Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres). The ninth season only had 10 episodes, which gave too few queries.
The series ended on a happy note with Louis and Sheila’s wedding, but in an unexpected turn of events, Donna and Harvey also tied the knot with the bonus reveal that they’re both leaving the New York firm to join Mike and Rachel in their firm in Seattle. That essentially means that the law office will have to undergo one more name change to reflect the remaining lawyers as Harvey transfers to the West Coast. As there was much suspense down the line which is still unsolved. Fans expected more of Harvey’s relationship with Mike as his boss and will he come back to the Manhattan firm again?
The Final Verdict on Season 10
The Suits Season 10 was called off. Kirsch, in an interview, said that he had the characters under contract till Season 7. Patrick Adams also resigned from the show as the contract was completed. So, observing the Suits cast’s lack of play, the makers had to shut down the show. Yet it was surprising that Suits was able to continue for two more seasons following Torres, Adams, and Markle’s exit in Season 7. While there’s nothing against the new characters, Suits’ main hook was the great chemistry among its key players – particularly the dynamic between Mike and Harvey.
The stars give their thoughts openly about this long-running show. Korsh goodbyes to the series in an interview where he described the series as a family. He said:
“I feel like, for nine years, it was a show about faith and family. On-screen, they were a family.”
