Beyond the wildest nightmares of the Flash, comes his next nemesis who has the face of his mother.
The Flash season 7 is going crazy with all the plot twists coming one after another. Fans are already in a confused state because of all the shocking news reported some good, some bad; and with everything that is happening on the show. This roller coaster ride is about to turn upside down because of the main villain reveal of Flash season 7. There were numerous speculations about who would be the big bad for season 7 of The Flash, some people thought it would be Godspeed after his appearance in the previous seasons, some thought it would be the Red Death after he was mentioned in season 5, even the debut of Cobalt Blue was also expected. However, the showrunners pulled a sneaky one on us and brought back a character as a villain who anyone would never have thought to have any evil intent- “The Speed Force (Nora Allen).
The Big Bad Revealed
The “Crisis On Infinite Earths” was a turning point in the Arrowverse and carved several changes in its storyline. All the Earths in the multiverse merged into one and came to be known as Earth Prime and several lost characters came back to life. But to join the battle, the Flash had to take an energy boost from the Spectre which eventually resulted in the death of the Speed force. As a result, the Flash lost his speed and was unable to stop the villain of the Flash season 6, Eva Mcculoch a.k.a. Mirror Mistress. With the return of The Flash with its seventh season, the Flash continued his attempts to create an artificial Speed force but that too failed. Eventually, Barry managed to revive the original Speed force with the help of his wife Iris, but that too came with a big cost. While team
Flash successfully revived the Speed force, they also gave birth to 3 more forces called the Strength force, The Sage force and the Still force. These new forces possessed 3 humans to use them as conduits for their existence. The Speed force returned looking like Barry’s mom Nora Allen and claimed that these forces attacked and tried to kill her (or so she said). The Flash agreed to help her take the other forces down, but they had a very different meaning for take-downs because it turns out that Nora wants to kill them irrespective of its effect on their conduit humans. In episode 8 of season 7 of The Flash, Barry and Nora investigated and found the host of the Strength force, Alexa Rivera. After Barry, Iris and Nora confirmed the presence of Strength force inside Alexa’s body, Nora attacked her and killed her while also threatening to kill Iris. And hence came the revelation that Nora Allen (the Speed force) would be the big bad of season 7 of The Flash.
Nora Allen As The Villain
This was a major shock as the very entity that powers the Flash and gives him his speed is now hellbent on killing innocent human beings. This could also result in a big turn-over and bring about tons of excitement with it. Since Speed force is literally a cosmic force of nature, she is going to be the toughest villain that team Flash has encountered till now. Since she was the that gave all the Speedsters their ability, we may see former speedster villains return as her henchmen to battle Central City’s Scarlet Speedster. Eric Wallance, the showrunner of the Flash, has also teased the return of a major villain from the first three seasons so there is a very high chance that we will see the classic Flash villains, Reverse Flash, Zoom and Savitar, return.
The Flash’s daughter, Nora West Allen, who has erased herself from existence during the finale of season 5, has also been spotted on set, so her return is guaranteed, for how long? Well that questions remains for the future to answer. The return of someone who had been erased from existence does seem like a task that only the Speed force can accomplish, but it is still a big mystery that she will return as her older self or as Nora’s puppet to fight her own father. All of this is exciting but since we are talking about taking down the Speed force, we may see a flash tradition taking place again i.e., Barry losing his speed, which has happened in almost every season. With all that said, one thing is for sure, the Flash season 7 is going to be a lot more thrilling than what we expected.
