The first one is set after the events of Return of Jedi. It follows a bounty hunter who tries to return The Child.

The Mandalorian Season 2 Is Available On Weekly Basis
While discussing what’s in the bag during a virtual panel for the ATX Television Festival, he said, “[We’re] hopefully building on what people loved about the first season, and it’s just felt like one continuous production.”
“Because of the rhythm of television, it’s not like you get to stop. I think we started filming [season 2] the day after it aired for the first time. So it doesn’t feel like the next season, it feels like we’re continuing.”
“As we explore partnering with new filmmakers and having new characters and going deeper with the characters we already have, it’s really been very fun and fulfilling and I hope people are having as much fun seeing it as we are having making it.”
