This crazy movie’s director James Gunn recently revealed that there are real rats in the new movie and that’s not all the craziness there is. Check this out.
James Gunn who is the writer and director of the movie explained that out of all the rats there are in “The Suicide Squad”, one is named after the “Guardians of the Galaxy” actor “Chris Pratt”. The duos of James and Chris have also previously worked in a group of movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Interestingly, despite the fact that James was shut out from the project over a misunderstanding, he is back and currently working on the 3rd part of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy. The 3rd part of the Guardians of the Galaxy series is expected to hit theaters by May 2023.
THE SUICIDE SQUAD: THE INSIDE STORY ABOUT RATS
Until this comes to light, James has another set of movies he is working on but this time for the DCEU (Detective Comics Extended Universe). The movie ‘The Suicide Squad’ is based on a group of villains who are deliberately put to work together under the name ‘Task Force X’. They are shipped to an island called ‘Corto Maltese’ where they should complete their mission if they want to survive. Out of the squad, one member is named as ‘Ratcatcher’ (aka Daniela Melchior) who is capable of controlling rodents. While James is trying to adapt as much as possible from the comics, this one gets a little more violent given the rating “R”.
In a recent interview, James explained his experience of working with living rats. While there were so many of them used, 2 have an important role to play. One goes by the name ‘Jaws’ while the other one is named ‘Crisp Ratt’ after the actor Chris Pratt. This is like a joke, although many may see it as a sign of disrespect, the actor took it in the right way assured James Gunn. Chris isn’t starring in the movie but this is acting as the linkage between MCU and DCEU movies.
James also earlier said that ‘The Suicide Squad’ is the most fun movie he has ever worked on. From the trailer and all the clips that are out, it sure looks like that. But for all the actual fun, we have to wait till August 6 to actually find out for ourselves.
