The Suicide Squad Could Be Breaking A Rule That Can Cost Them A lot.

The death of Potential Captain Boomerang in The Suicide Squad feels like it has broken an unspoken rule and could have been the reason why fans are upset.

Death of Captian Boomerang in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad has broken a key rule that can make fans upset. Jai Courtney made his first appearance in 2016’s Suicide Squad as Captian Boomerang, who will be making a comeback in James Gunn’s reboot of the franchise.

At DC FanDom, Gunn dropped a surprise of fans as the first look of Suicide Squad, which worked twofold to set the stage of a mission tasked to the backdrop of a war movie and as make the introduction of the Colour cast of both new and original cast. Initially, the whole team of Suicide Squad consists of over 15 members including Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn and Courtney as Captain Boomerang, as well as newcomers to the DCEU such as John Cena as Peacemaker and Idris Elba as Bloodsport. After seeing the special behind the scene trailer fans have believed that Starro is going to Task Force X’s real enemy.

Gunn has been open about the movie, even he has stated that Warner Bros. has given him full control to decide who is going to live and die. As per what recently released pictures says Captian Boomerang is going to be a part of Task Force X’s first wave against Starro, which could suggest the worst for him. The Suicide Squad images tease that there are going to be two teams that are doing two different missions and with a high body count for the film all but guaranteed, it can be safe to speculate that one of these teams might not make it, which unfortunately may mean the one that Boomerang is on. Because he is in the first team and something goes out a plan that’s Amanda decides to shift him to the second team.

In the comic book Boomerang somehow manages to save his life and become a sort of mascot for Task Force X’s. Gunn has also mentioned that the movie is a lot inspired by   John Ostrander’s 1980s run of the Suicide Squad comics, from this run boomerang was established as a prominent member of Task Force X. He was included in 2014’s Batman: Assault on Arkham, 2018’s Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay, and will even appear in the upcoming video game Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

Fans somewhere think that with Captian Boomerang’s death Gunn is trying to make a statement that ‘no one is safe’. Other than Boomerang’s death, the death of Harley Quinn has the same impact but after seeing her popularity after franchise spin-off Bird of Prey her death seems impossible but Control is in Gunn’s hand. Boomerang’s death would surely be shocking, but it’s also one that could be met with upset fans who reject it as breaking a rule, that Boomerang is safe. For now, the plot of The Suicide Squad has been kept tightly under wraps, so fans will have to wait and see what happens when the film releases.
