More post-apocalyptic action arriving with the return of The Walking Dead season 11.
The Walking Dead has been a massive success during its run since it began back in 2010. While the show has witnessed a lot of major cast departures and plot twists but nothing less can be expected from a post-apocalyptic horror drama and despite that, the show has been a consistent performer. Its success can also be measured by the fact that it has managed to inspire many other spinoff projects like “Fear the Walking Dead” and “The Walking Dead: World Beyond”. Another spinoff series that will focus on Carol and Daryl’s characters is in works along with different other movies. Needless to say, The Walking Dead’s legacy would continue to live on long after the show ends.
The Road So Far
Currently, The Walking Dead has stretched around 10 seasons. The last season i.e. The Walking Dead season 10 got delayed thanks to the COVID- 19 Pandemic, as a result, season 10 which was originally meant to end approximately a year ago, in April 2020, was put on hold because the post-production of the last episode was stuck. The season finale aired as a standalone episode in October but luckily the show has returned for six “extra” episodes that are meant to bridge the gap between season 10 and the final season 11. The release of these “extra” episodes is at bay with the first one airing this week.
The Walking Dead Season 11: The Final Season
The Walking Dead season 11 entered into production earlier this month, though there still haven’t been an official release date, it is hinted to be in summer this year. The bonus episode run is expected to end in April which means that the wait for the last season is going to be minimal. Although this is wishful thinking to believe that the final season would air this summer without an official release date. It’s only a matter of time before the heartbreaking moment arrives and this long-running show comes to end.
The result would be much similar to the effect that Supernatural had when it ended last year. The trailer promised a new world order coming into effect in the final season and considering the ups and downs that the characters have faced in the show so far, the last and the biggest stepping stone is yet to come. How the final season of The Walking Dead turns out remains to be seen but whether or not the fans are ready for it is still a question, though it is guaranteed that the immense love that the fans have for the show will continue forward with the upcoming spinoffs.
