The Witcher, a fantasy realm, is now getting to another level with Blood Origin on Netflix. The Witcher on Netflix is a murky, humorous, and loyal adaptation of the fantasy series. There is no surprise that Netflix is planning to increase its popularity. The Witcher Season One debuted last year on Netflix. It was the most popular in streaming history.
Netflix has now announced The Witcher: Blood Origin that will be a restricted series from the universe of The Witcher. It will delve deep into a different possible world.
Blood Origin is going to be a six-part live-action that would be a limited series. It is also considered as the prequel to The Witcher. It would be set in the 11th world that is 1200 years earlier to the world of The Witcher. The show will be showing the origin of The Witcher along with the events of “conjunction of the spheres”.
No Cast Is Revealed
It will explore the time when “the worlds of monsters, men, and elves merged into one, and the first Witcher came to be.” The show will be guided by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, showrunner of Witcher series, and screenwriter Declan de Barra.
Blood Origin will be shot in the UK but cast and fates have not been revealed.
Declan de Barra will be the executive producer along with showrunner and Lauren Schmidt Hissrich will be executive producer. Andrzej Sapkowski will be a creative consultant. Jason Brown and Sean Daniel of Hivemind, and Tomek Baginski and Jarek Sawko of Platige Films will be serving as executive producers.
Declan de Barra has said, “As a lifelong fan of fantasy, I am beyond excited to tell the story The Witcher: Blood Origin. I’ve always been fascinated by the rise and fall of civilizations, how science, discovery, and culture flourish right before that fall. How vast swathes of knowledge are lost forever in such a short time. Leaving only fragments of a civilization’s true story behind. The Witcher: Blood Origin will tell the tale of the Elven civilization before its fall, and most importantly reveal the forgotten history of the very first Witcher.”
There is no news about the debut dates of Blood Origin.
