The working title for DC’s planned Joker sequel appears to have adhered to the Shakespearean naming convention of the 2019 feature.
Joker: Folie à Deux’s (Joker 2) working title, as discovered by a user on Reddit, is “Juliet.” This is an understandable continuation of the “Romeo” moniker used throughout the production of 2019’s Joker. The fact that filming has been ongoing since the start of primary photography on December 10, 2022, was brought up in comments under the post. Given that Joker: Folie à Deux (Joker 2) would depict the heated relationship between the Joker and Harley Quinn, the title “Juliet” fits very well with the new movie’s emphasis on romance.
Joker: Lady Gaga, who has received praise for her performances in the 2018 adaptation of A Star is Born and Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story, will co-star with Joaquin Phoenix in the movie Folie à Deux. Gaga will play Harley Quinn, a doctor who turns into The Joker’s psychotic sidekick and lover. According to reports, the plot of Joker: Folie à Deux (Joker 2) starts with the two characters’ initial encounter at Arkham Asylum and follows their blossoming romance and journey into madness together. The part of Mad-Eye Moody, played by Brendan Gleeson, in the Harry Potter series is his most well-known performance.
After the massive success of 2019’s Joker, in which star Joaquin Phoenix won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Arthur Fleck, interest in Joker: Folie à Deux (Joker 2) is still high. Reviewers praised Joker’s directing, visual aesthetic, musical soundtrack, and cinematography, and the movie was a critical darling.
