Titans Season 3 is returning this year. Find out all the details below!
Quoting Jason Todd from the first episode of Titans season 2, “Titans Are Back Bitches!”, well not yet but they will be and this year only. Titans originally premiered on October 12, 2018, and successfully concluded its second season in November 29, 2019. The third installment of the series was also announced as the most special one yet. Fans will get to witness the very first live-action adaptation of the beloved antihero Red Hood and not only that but the series will return on HBO MAX as one of the streaming service’s biggest exclusive offerings to-date
. The series is based on the DC Comic team- Teen Titans, a superhero team of young heroes who work together to fight evil villains. The team consists of Beast Boy, Raven, Starfire, Wonder Girl, Hawk, and Dove led by their leader, Robin (Dick Grayson). Also joining the team were Superboy, Robin (Jason Todd), and Ravager(Rose Wilson). Season 3 of Titans will feature the debut of Barbara Gordon, as well as Jason Todd’s evolution from Robin to Red Hood. The season will also see a greater role for Blackfire and the introduction of Tim Drake and Scarecrow.
Titans Season 3
The hype for Titans season 3 is massive considering all the things that have been promised to happen on the season. Season 2 of Titans was a blast all in itself, showing us the backstory of Aqualad on the team titans, introducing Superboy, Cadmus and Krypto on the show, featuring some of the arch enemies of Teen Titans- Deathstroke and Dr. Light as well the splendid transition of Dick Grayson’s Robin into the Nightwing. Although Connor Leslie died in the series finale episode of the previous season, she is teased to return back in her spectacular Black suit from “Titans: Rebirth”.
In addition to that, for adding spice into the season, a number of new characters would be making their debut on the show. More members from the Bat-Family would be joining the show, namely Barbara Gordon (Batgirl), played by Savannah Welch and Tim Drake (Red Robin), played by Jay Lycurgo, would be introduced as the third Robin. BlackFire was announced to be the main villain of the season but along with her another one of Batman’s greatest enemies- Scarecrow would be coming on screen, although there haven’t been any announcements on who would be taking up his role. Roy Harper (Arsenal) is also expected to make an appearance on the show as teased in season 2 when Donna Troy receives a call from him.
The most exciting thing in the third season would be to witness a live-action “Red Hood” on the show. In the comics, Jason transforms into the anti-hero Red Hood after being killed by the Joker and subsequently resurrected. But on the show, Jason Todd who felt betrayed by everyone, his team, and his love (Rose Wilson), turns into the heartless antihero The Red Hood who would be obsessed with only one goal- Hunting and killing down all the members of the Titans. This is in contrast to the motives of the Red Hood in the comics who aims at killing the villains rather than heroes. Lex Luthor was heavily teased in the finale of season 2, with Cadmus Laboratories security specialist Mercy Graves receiving a call from the Superman arch-nemesis, potentially teeing the character up for an appearance in season 3.
