Find out what Loki star Tom Hiddleston has to say about the possibilities of the Loki season 2.
There have been a few cinematic villains who became even more popular than their opposite superheroes like Heath Ledger’s Joker and Tom Hardy’s Bane and among that list is Tom Hiddleston’s Loki. Loki has always been one of those Villains who have always overshadowed the heroes and it time for him to make a spectacular return in the MCU. After a lifetime of waiting, the Disney+ Loki series is roughly 2 weeks away now. On June 9, the God of Mischief will finally return and make us all fall in love with him all over again. In terms of death, Loki has a huge history of dying or deceiving other of his death.
Sadly, his death became permanent at the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, and that hit the fans like a truck since it was the first time Loki’s death was confirmed. But the MCU just couldn’t let their precious trickster go away and Loki came back in the picture in Avengers: Endgame. During the Avengers’ Time Heist, the Loki of 2012 got his hand on the Tesseract and slipped away from the hands of the Avengers. The upcoming Disney+ Loki series will revolve around that Time Remanent Loki following his escape from 2012 and his recruitment by the Time Variance Authority or TVA.
Will Loki Season 2 Ever Happen?
The MCU takes great care and time to establish a character’s overall story and development. Every character in the MCU is bound to reappear in another project at some point in time, therefore Loki season 2 is a very likely event to take place. Total Film magazine interviewed and questioned Tom Hiddleston about the possibility of Loki season 2 to which he gave a very cryptic answer. “At this point, I have learned that for me to have any expectations is futile and a fool’s errand. Having said goodbye to the character once, twice, three times, I do not know what the future holds. But I’m excited to find out. I think we could never have seen 10 years ahead.
However, that would be to underestimate the intelligence of Kevin Feige! Maybe he did see into the future, and he predicted all this, and, in fact, he works for the TVA and reality is unfolding as it should, and we’re all just along for the ride…” he said. Well, he is not wrong since Loki has died in Thor and Thor: The Dark World and still came back, so his character’s future is nothing but uncertain, still considering Loki’s popularity among the fans, I think it’s safe to say that we will eventually get a Loki season 2.
Marvel Producer, Nate Moore has also recently stated that Loki is a great show with potential that goes beyond the six episodes of the first season. With all that being said, we can only presume that Loki season 2 will happen until Marvel actually confirms that the show has been renewed for a second season. Considering how well the series performs, it would only be a matter of time until the news arrives, so let’s just wait patiently for the announcements.
