Black Widow and Venom

Venom As Natasha Merging With The Symbiote

A new crossover art perceives Natasha Romanoff merging with the Symbiote from the Venom films, making Black Widow a totally different character.

A new crossover art of Black Widow and Venom imagines Natasha Romanoff being overtaken by the alien Symbiote that inhibits Eddie Brock’s body. Black Widow will be seen returning to the MCU this Friday after her death in Avenger: Endgame with her first solo feature film. The film depicts the event taking place between the events of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity WarBlack Widow will likely be Scarlett Johansson’s swan song in the MCU as she looks to pass the mantle of her long-running character to Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova.

The Crossover Between Black Widow and Venom

Venom: Let There Be Carnage, the sequel, will bring back Eddie Brock to his theatrical return later this year. The film will follow through on Venom‘s mid-credits stinger where Eddie goes to interview notorious serial killer Cletus Kasady, played by Woody Harrelson. Over a year after the events of Venom (2018), investigative journalist Eddie Brock struggles to adjust to life as the host of the alien symbiote Venom, which grants him super-human abilities to be a lethal vigilante. Brock attempts to reignite his career by interviewing serial killer Cletus Kasady, who becomes the host of the symbiote Carnage and escapes prison after a failed execution.

The art, created by a digital artist Venomhology, reimagines one of the Black Widow’s posters with the Venom symbiote slowly encroaching on the Marvel hero played by Scarlet Johansson. In the photo, Natasha’s eyes have been turned black with half of her head covered in the black symbiote skin and the tendrils of symbiote can be seen behind her. Venom’s teeth are gradually beginning to form over her mouth.

Venom: Let there be Carnage is an upcoming superhero movie, a sequel to Venom (2018), featuring the Marvel Comics character Venom, produced by Columbia Pictures in association with Marvel and Tencent Pictures. It is scheduled to be theatrically released in the United Kingdom on September 15, 2021, and then in the United States on September 24, after being delayed from an initial October 2020 date due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Due to the complicated rights issues separating the Spider-Man characters owned by Sony from the Disney-owned Marvel Studios Venom has not officially made its way over to the MCU. Still, rumors swirl about the possible connections between Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters and the Marvel Cinematic Universe thanks to various indicators like Vulture from Spider-Man: Homecoming existing in the Morbius film starring Jared Leto.

Seeing the symbiote taking over Natasha Romanoff is captivating but unfortunately an impossible scenario in the MCU. As a matter of fact, Natasha is already dead, and Johansson likely won’t be appearing in any future project of Marvel. Though the art definitely gave fans a certain idea about how insane the crossover might look like.
