The Spiderman was himself the one to bring Venom on the Earth, who later became one of his most threatening foes. After getting his reputation ruined by the hands of Spiderman, who finds the real serial killer which made Eddie Brock’s theory of him exposing the identity of a man as a serial killer- a lie. The revengeful and unforgiving Eddie Brock and Venom mutualist bonded on a mutual desire to destroy Spiderman’s life.
What did MCU realize?
The Marvel Cinematic Universe didn’t take too long to realize the actual potential of Venom and made him an antihero instead of downright Villain. Venom became an antihero in the early ’90s. A ceasefire between Spiderman and Eddie Brock in The Venom: Lethal Protector forced Venom to move to San Francisco. Spiderman somehow reached San Francisco in search of Venom. He anyhow had many peripheral roles in the Venom further series. Venom mostly sensed as Spiderman sub-brand.
Writer Donny Cates has changed a lot in the series over the years. The ancient history of the Symbiote race was also revealed by none other than Donny Cates. This ancient history gave rise to Knull, the god of the symbiotes who since the beginning of time fought against life. Knull was the leader of symbiotes as he was the one who created the weapon: Necrosword. This weapon had the power to destroy the existence of the gods.
What felt like ‘Absolute Carnage’ event was the ‘Venom’ event
By revealing the fact that the symbiotes existed even before Eddie Brock, Donny Cates successfully built a substantive distance between Venom and Spiderman. He even created Carnage as the servant of Knull. The ‘Absolute Carnage’ event in Spiderman seems to have appeared was a Venom event. This shows how perfectly Venom has outgrown Spider-man and is an event.
Another milestone after this ‘Absolute Carnage’ event is this week’s Venom#25 as it doesn’t feature Peter Parker. This shows that Venom has shed being a shadow of Spiderman and there seems no turning back for him after this. Without any doubt, Venom (the alien) has finally grown bigger than Spider-man.
