Avengers: Infinity War witnessed Vision’s dead but seems like there’s still hope for Vision’s fate in Marvel. Find out the details!
On March 5, 2021, the amazing WandaVision series finally concluded, leaving everybody in a state of emotional shock, and amusing people at the same time. The series finale of WandaVision was a well thought and well-scripted masterpiece. Though some people were greatly disappointed with the ending considering the high hopes they had, Matt Shakman, the director of WandaVision previous acknowledged that this might happen. There was some major development that went underway in the finale episode of WandaVision, and while they open up new doors of great new possibilities, they also left the fans with a ton of unanswered questions to wonder about. One such question is Vision’s fate in the near future of the MCU.
The Dilemma With The Vision
The Vision made his debut in the MCU in the 2015 movie “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” He then went on to be a part of “Captain America: Civil War”, “Avengers: Infinity War” and recently in “WandaVision”. The Vision’s life in the MCU has been one bumpy ride, full of ups and downs. The Vision, played by Paul Bettany, has been a synthesis of many deaths. In “Avengers: Infinity War”, to keep the Mind Stone away from Thanos’ grasp, Vision suggests that the Mind Stone should be destroyed even at the cost of its wielder’s life, his own. In order to save countless lives, the Vision persuades his own girlfriend, Wanda Maximoff, to destroy the Mind Stone. A heartbreaking task which she accomplishes for the greater. Unfortunately, Thanos didn’t take no for an answer and revived the Vision only to rip out the Mind Stone from his head, killing him one more time in the process. WandaVision gives rise to two different Visions, the one created by Wanda Maximoff out of her own will using the Mind Stone energy within herself and the one constructed by S.W.O.R.D.’s director Hayward using Vision’s remains and Wanda’s Chaos Magic.
Possibilities Of The Vision’s Future
The series finale of WandaVision features a face-off between the two with ends with a simple paradox. The Vision was able to free the White Vision from S.W.O.R.D.’s control using the Ship of Theseus analogy. He then unlocked the memories of the White Vision as well as gave him a taste of the power of the Mind Stone. Before flying into the unknown, the White Vision states: “I Am Vision” which clearly suggests that the MCU still hasn’t seen the last of him. His return is certain, although when and how still remain a mystery.
There are still a lot of things about the new vision that remain unclear. These include his morality, his personality, and his power level. Whether or not his feelings returned when his memory got restored is still a big question that will directly affect The Vision’s morality in the MCU’s future. White Vision’s battle with the Vision revealed that he has super strength, can shoot lasers, fly and phase shift but his overall power levels might not be the same as the pre-Thanos vision who had the Mind Stone powering him. He also alters the look of his eyes teasing that the original beetroot-colored look of the Vision might return. With so much uncertainty only one thing stands clear, The Vision is far from dead in the MCU.
