Writer Jac Schaeffer has come up with some new facts that we surely didn’t know. Wanda vision’s post-credits were so designed to set up a future for her. The show was expected to be ‘franchise switching’, but it barely turned out to be a story of Wanda dealing with her past.
This certainly doesn’t mean that the show didn’t think it through and plot points that would play a very important role in Marvel’s future. This is especially true for Wanda herself, who was the epicenter of the show. She has been in the franchise for quite some time now but was always regarded as a side character. We first saw her in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’, but the movie was mainly focused on Avengers and was just a supporting character. Wanda Vision gave Marvel and her character a sort of the beginning of the story and opportunity to build her story and tackle all her suppressed fears starting from her parent’s death to Vision’s quietus in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’.

In these scenes, Scarlet Witch goes into self-isolation and tries to learn more about ‘Darkhold’. As is expected off MCU, this sets the tone of Wanda’s future in MCU, which writer Jac also explained. She said that we wanted to convey two messages and they can certainly be implied “One – she is capable of being by herself and doesn’t want to jump out of her body and can peacefully sit and relax and have tea. Second – After what all she has learned about herself from Westview experience and specifically from Agatha, she wants to learn more and so Darkhold became the mechanism for that”.
Both these factors determine the future of Wanda in MCU. Giving her some time for herself and some peace after the tragic life she has had seemed necessary and accepting all the fears she had locked away of her past seemed quite necessary for her character to move forward and that too with content. Wanda is obviously one of the main characters of MCU’s phase 4.
As per her comics history too, she’s expected to become quite powerful, in fact super powerful and that has not happened till now. All we have seen are hints of what she could possibly and witnessing her at her full power would be a delight for fans. Hopefully, coming back from meditation and some alone time might really help her and we’ll see a BETTER VERSION of SCARLET WITCH in times to come.
