The most awaiting Fantastic Beast 3 is reportedly now in post-production and all set to release in July 2022.
SPOILERS ALERTS: The following contains spoilers to the third film series of Fantastic Beasts.
After three years since the last movie, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, released, and finally, the third Fantastic Beasts film is on its way. After multiple delays, both before and after the pandemic, the third chapter in the Wizarding World prequel series is now in post-production and due to release next July. After the underwhelming nature of The Crimes of Grindelwald, not to mention all the off-screen controversy surrounding its cast, there’s a lot of pressure on Fantastic Beasts 3 to deliver something truly gripping and thrilling.
Fantastic Beasts 3: Everything You Need To Know
According to sources, one of the franchise’s major characters will be killed off in the new film, which should have major consequences for where the story goes next. The shocking death at the end of the Fantastic Beasts 3 will be of the wizard formerly known as Credence Barebone, but the final scene of crimes revealed was actually Aurelius Dumbledore, the younger brother of the younger brother of Jude Law’s Albus.
Ezra Miller’s troubled young Obscurial essentially served as the hinge of the whole plot of the first two films, as his dangerous powers made him a target for both the light and dark wizards out there. So, killing him off would be a surprising move for the next film to make. The third installment in the franchise will see protagonist Newt Scamander and company return for another adventurous journey through the wizarding world, attempting to defeat the maniacal Gellert Grindelwald.
Though it makes sense from a behind-the-scenes standpoint. Given that The Flash solo films are finally happening, Miller’s commitments to the DCEU may only increase from now on, so he may not be available for future sequels. That is assuming that any further entries in the franchise actually get made.
It has been rumored that WB may cut their losses and conclude Fantastic Beasts with this third movie. Though previously, in October 2016, Rowling announced that the Fantastic Beasts film series would be composed of five films. In November 2016, Rowling confirmed that the story of the series would consist of a sequence of events that occurred between the years 1926 and 1945. Since nothing is out about the confirmation for more sequels hence that remains unknown.
