With his great wave of knowledge and the bucket of hardships, the Professor would never fail in his attempts! We know that the Professor intends to do the wrong thing but why do we still feel so close to his thoughts?
The Spanish Netflix series– ‘La casa de Papel’ or ‘Money Heist’ (in English), revolves around the story of a heist at the Royal Mint of Spain carried out by the mastermind ‘The Professor’, played by Alvaro Morte. He hires eight people with specializations who have no connections with people and hence, have nothing to lose.
The Professor teaches the robbers according to his theories of the possibilities. The Professor might not have good actions at times but he manages to inspire us with several life lessons. The world is dancing on Bella Caio and resisting with Dali masks and red suits. Therefore, what has made us sing this jolly song for our victories?

THE ‘MASTERMIND’ OF THE MASTERMINDS
Sergio Marquina or The Professor is the master of negotiating. We might come across many instances which made our hearts go into our mouths. What brings it back every time to its place is the actions of the Professor. His knowledge about the best negotiating tactics, working through the police perspective, saving his team brought success in robbing billions of euros from the Royal Mint.
A human being’s mind can’t focus on several tasks at the same time. But Sergio would never give up on his failures. He was able to hide his identity from Inspector Raquel Murillo, also the love his life, in the initial episodes which make him a genius. Not only the brains of the Professor have worked, his luck has also given him tons of chances.
His research and knowledge always kept him one step ahead of the police. Also, his idea for naming all the team members by countries was a mindful thought.
GOOD INTENTIONS BEHIND THE BAD
The sole reason the Professor planned out the heist was because of his father. He claimed that he was a very sick child and his father did not have the money to pay for his treatment. And so, he used to rob banks but he was shot once and died. According to him, the wealthy Government officials always plan the funds leaving nothing for the common people. Hence, the money was for them, the once who needed it.
The two-faced man had the best intentions with a list of rules for all his puppets. As much as wanted to rob the bank, he never wanted anyone to spill the blood of the hostages. His plan may not have worked out several times due to the mishandling by his peers, but he took the guilt over himself and continued with his plan.
From changing his appearance to not killing his worst enemies, the Professor stands out to be a good person. The season 3 of the show started with a new heist in the Bank of Spain. It was Berlin’s plan in the first place and the Professor is giving him a tribute by fulfilling it now.
IRONY IN HIS WORDS AND ACTIONS
“When someone is in love, they look through the rose-tinted glasses. Everything’s wonderful. They transform into a soft teddy bear that’s smiling all the time.” Well, Sergio’s no attachment rule did not work either for himself or his team. The love of his life, ironically the Inspector, made him weak to hurt her. Raquel even understood his intentions after catching him but did not leave his side. Instead she became ‘Lisbon’ for the next heist. This is why, he did not even have the strength to kill Raquel’s mother at the right moment.
Attachment may not have been the best decision for everyone in the heist. But the success remains somewhat there. No matter, how much the Professor did not want to attach himself with others, eventually he did. From having a baby with Nairobi to crying over the death of Berlin and Oslo, the Professor found it hard to detach himself from the surroundings. But isn’t it what brought all of them together? ‘For Nairobi’ still gives us hope for a revengeful season 5.
THE NEED FOR ‘BELLA CAIO’
Our love for the red suit, the Dali mask and the soulful song- Bella Caio has brought us a long way to fall in love with this show.
