The Awkward Scene
There’s no denying Jim Parsons is one of the finest actors who always justice with the character he played. But, being a fine artist he faced one of the challenges while playing Henry. The actor told Deadline, how he was able to get comfortable with the intimate scenes in Hollywood. Jim gets into the details that the challenge of filming the initial intimate scenes with his co-star was very awkward. Here’s what he said.
The first one [Jake Picking and I] did together that was predatorily charged was the one where he comes to my office and I say, ‘I’ll work with you,’ and then I force him into a sexual act in exchange for this. It was very early in our working relationship, and what’s funny is, the part that made me most uncomfortable was a part that wasn’t going to ever be on camera—and I don’t believe is in the final cut, now that I think about it. But we had a shot where we were face to face and he undoes his pants, and then I dropped out of frame. And obviously, nothing was literally happening, except it was an intimacy with somebody I didn’t know.
Further, Parsons even thanked Ryan Murphy for the role because it was “one of the most fun, creative, fulfilling jobs I’ve gotten to do in a long time” And the role was a gift which changed his own path as an actor and where he was heading.
