The show was called off after just one season and apparently, a new show will take its place, but why did it happen- here’s the reason.
Aired and available on the OTT platform, Jupiter Legacy was called off after just one season but that doesn’t mean the environment the show was created in has also been destroyed because it will continue. The show was based on the comic book named ‘Jupiter Legacy’ by authors ‘Mark Millar and Frank Quietly’ and the story revolves around a group of the senescent superhero teams called “Union of Justice” and they are ready to pass on the reins to the younger generation.
While the process was performed, they realized that they were a little out of practice with the younger and newer methods. Apparently, the show was out of order too and didn’t attract a lot of traffic on the online streaming platform.
The star cast included ‘Josh Duhamel, Ben Daniels, Leslie Bibb’ and was Netflix’s 1st entry towards a show in Millarverse. Netflix has ambitious projects planned for the comic book house named ‘Millarworld’ which they bought in 2017. Some other comics under the publication include ‘Kingsman, Kick-Ass, Huck’. This is a similar comic publication that was behind some of Marvel’s best-selling and most trending ideas like ‘Civil War’ and ‘Old Man Logan’.
REASON BEHIND CANCELLATION
The show is ended after just one season came as a surprise and that too after just 1 month of its last episode’s release. But it wasn’t like the series had a smooth road through its filming days, maker Steven S. DeKnight left the show halfway through its shoot and though the series were amongst the trending top 10 of Netflix for a very long time, the show more or less always received bad reviews and therefore was called off without further ado. Millar, the maker of Jupiter’s Legacy recently announced that he is working on a new project named ‘Supercrooks’ which is based in the same fictional world.
Some apparently speculate that because Netflix and Millar were heading on two different roads regarding the Jupiter’s Legacy shoot and therefore it was canceled. Others say that because the streaming platform ended the contracts of the star cast, the show had to be canceled. Also, some say that the cost of the series might be one reason for its cancellation.
Whatever be the reason, fans don’t have to get disappointed because they will see another show from the same place and they can easily replace Jupiter’s Legacy for Supercrooks.
