Joe Hill, Locke and Key writer, says Hell and Gone, which is the forthcoming DC-Sandman Universe crossover, is aptly the Locke and Key’s first and only crossover.
co-creator/writer, Locke and Key, Joe Hill says Hell and Gone, the impending crossover with DC Comics’ Sandman Universe, is likely to be the comic’s first and final crossover.
Hill said while discussing Hell and Gone at New York Comic Con, “It’s probably our last crossover, too, because it’s very hard to imagine justifying a crossover where, say, Tyler Locke meets Howard the Duck.”
To date, every isolated issue of IDW Publishing’s Locke & Key has been written by Hill and exemplified by Gabriel Rodriguez, a tendency that continues with Hell and Gone, which is turning itself away from other stories.
Hell And Gone Slated For December
It was first announced by IDW back in February. Hell and Gone is scheduled to launch in December as of now with issue #0. It recaps key storylines and characters from Locke and Key and The Sandman.
The crossover then kicks off formal in February’s Hell & Gone #1, Which pursues Mary Lock on a journey to save her deceased brother, John “Jack” Locke, from Hell, a quest that will “require her to outsmart Roderick Burgess (the evilest man in England), puzzles her way through the House of Mystery and risk the walking nightmare known as The Corinthian in the disintegrating Kingdom of Dreams!”
Hell and Gone is written by Joe Hill and it is illustrated by Gabriel Rodriguez. Locke and Key/Sandman: Hell and Gone #0 is scheduled to go on sale from Dec. 9 from IDW Publishing and DC Comics. The same will be followed by Issue #1 on Feb. 10, 2021.
