Kim Cattrall will not be involved in the Sex and the city reboot and that was heartbreaking until one more piece of news arrived which was even shocking. Well, it seems like Sex And The City reboot heading for a failure?
The famous show Sex And The City is being rebooted for 10 half-hour episodes and there is a lot of excitement among fans. However, many are heartbroken as Samantha Jones and John James played by Kim Cattrall and Chris Noth are said to not be a part of the revival. Yes, you heard it right! The iconic series will not have its main characters in the reboot.
Sex And The City Reboot
The title ‘And Just Like that…’ will follow the story of the three of the central characters Carrie Bradshaw(Sarah Jessica Parker), Charlotte GoldenBlat( Christin Davis), and Miranda Hobbes( Cynthia Jackson). The reboot will not focus on the complicated realities of life and friendship in their 50’s.
Chris Noth Will Not Be A Part Of Reboot
There has been a long-running feud between herself and Parker and there are gossips about that being the reason. The revival which is to begin production in spring is a lot in talks. The story is not at all going to be the same without Mr.Big and Carrie’s romance. Entertainment portal page six revealed that Noth who plays Mr.Big is not going to return to the Sex And The City reboot. Miranda’s husband Steve Brady played by David Eigenberg is also said to not return. There are speculations that David is in negotiations and may return but nothing is confirmed. Sex and the city reboot is a big thing but leaving a lot of the main casts behind, questions are popping on how good it will be.
Samantha who was responsible for the heat and intimacy fitting the title the best amongst the ladies will leave a big hole in the plot. However, HBO Max chief content officer Casey Bloys said that the plot will continue with the absence of Samantha she also added
“Friendships fade, and new friendships start. … They’re trying to tell an honest story about being a woman in her 50s in New York. So, it should all feel somewhat organic, and the friends that you have when you’re 30, you may not have when you’re 50.”
This new turn is a bit hard to accept with the girls being soulmates for so long. Carrie’s love interests have never matched the charm and connection there was with Mr. Big. Though there have always been on and offs and a lot of drama with charismatic Mr. Big, they have always had a special connection. Suddenly the couple being out of the picture would be uncomfortable for the viewers.
Fans are pleading with Chris Noth in comments to reconsider but he doesn’t seem to be convinced. Samantha is also very firm about her decision. Sex and the City is getting a grand reboot but the absence of Chris and Kim is making this kind of Bittersweet. Fans are hoping for the best, everyone is still excited to see the new lives of these girls in New York City. But it seems like Sex And The City reboot may not be able to please the audience.
