Marvel has disclosed Ron Garney’s variant cover for Wolverine Black White and Blood #1. It lives up to the series’ gore-soaked aesthetic.
Variant Cover For Wolverine Black White and Blood #1
Garney’s variant cover stars Wolverine’s claws tearing through a black foreground, while the X-Man twists in the background. Blood drops from his claws and the cut marks in the cover, living up to the title. Garney has formerly worked on relevant X-Men books consisting of Wolverine Weapon X with Jason Aaron and the impending Juggernaut miniseries with Fabian Nicieza.
Wolverine Black White and Blood will concentrate on various untold tales from Wolverine’s life, comprising his Weapon X days and his time with the X-Men. The series’ artwork will be illustrated in black-and-white layout with a substantial splash of blood red. Writers on the title comprise Venom scribe Donny Cates and X-Men veteran Chris Claremont, while various all-star artists involving Adam Kubert and Declan Shalvey will give rise to Logan’s bloody conflicts to life.
“I can’t stress how exciting it is getting all of these pages from the absolutely killer level of talent assembled for this book,” series editor Mark Basso said. “It’s become a hype cliché, but you’ve really never seen anything quite like this from Marvel Comics.”
Wolverine Black White and Blood #1 is by Gerry Duggan, Declan Shalvey, Matthew Rosenberg, Adam Kubert, Joshua Cassara, and more. It will be available for sale Nov. 4 from Marvel.
