A new trailer of Wonder Woman 1984 is dropped. The trailer for Wonder Woman 1984 has come amidst the questions about whether the movie would skip theaters. The trailer now confirms that the film will be getting a big-screen treatment.
Director Patty Jenkins, Chris Pine, Gal Gadot, Pedro Pascal, and Kristen Wiig have appeared at DC FanDome events. It was to answer a few questions from audiences and to debut a new trailer. The trailer features Wonder Woman taking on Cheetah. Cheetah is the new villain who is played by Kristen Wiig. The trailer also shows some of the scenes where Diana Prince reunites with Steve Trevor.
The movie was slated to hit theaters on 5th June. But it was delayed to 14th August because of the pandemic. Warner Bros. were trying to figure out a new release because the theatres were shut down. The studio has now decided to release the film on 2nd October. It is currently the same date.
Jenkin has said, “I really think the movie is so great on the big screen, We’re going to stick it out, and we believe in putting it in the cinema.”
John Stankey For The Big Names To Reach Digital Platform
AT&T CEO John Stankey has spoken earlier this year about if certain titles under the label of Warner Bros. would go directly to digital retailers. Universal, Warner Bros., and Disney have pushed some films from theatres to digital platforms because of the pandemic.
When it was about the bigger titles of Warner Bros., Stankey had ruled out Christopher Nolan’s Tenet. While Wonder Woman 1984 is not going on that route.
Stankey said, “Do I think there can be some things that we built for theatrical release that migrates into a [streaming] construct? Sure.” “Is It going to happen in a movie like Tenet or Wonder Woman 1984? I would be very surprised… actually, I can assure you on Tenet that’s not going to be the case.”
It seems like Wonder Woman 1984 will be having an exclusive theatrical release. But still, nothing is permanent as 2020 itself believes in alteration.
