Here’s what we know all about Young Sheldon Season 5
Dr. Sheldon Cooper, the famous ‘The Big Bang Theory’ character is one of the most annoying yet loved characters on screen. His scientific rants, encyclopedia of knowledge, love towards science, holier than thou attitude, super irritating nature, and various catchphrase the most among that was “Bazinga..!” At the end for season 12 of Big Bang Theory, it was sure that keeping fans away from Dr. Sheldon Cooper for long is not going to be possible.
Then came the news that the makers are coming with a prequel and naming it “Young Sheldon”. The name in itself is self-sufficient in explaining how the story entirely revolves around Sheldon, his upbringing, how he became what he became, etc. The show completed 4 seasons (the last one was completed during the pandemic)
The makers recently announced that Season 5 is coming, so what more would the future have for Sheldon and his family? With 4 seasons already in, there still are a lot of stories for Young Sheldon as the show moves forward with the Coopers. Young Sheldon Season 3 was forced to end early (due to the onset of pandemic) and Season 4 started a bit late due to the same reason. Although the storyline was quite well thought of as the show began.
Plot of Young Sheldon Season 4
This season with Sheldon officialy getting graduated from High School and starting college at East Texas Tech. He became a lab assistant there and secured funding for his first year. Meanwhile, Dr. Sturgis left Medford to work on the supercollider in Waxahachie, Texas.
Also, George Sr. and Mary’s marriage started to disrupt. Though the duration for Season 4 was reduced as it showcased only 18 episodes, in terms of moving the storyline the show didn’t disappoint us. It made significant progress in both Sheldon’s personal life and the lives of other Coopers as well. In terms of popularity, the show remained the most-watched comedy on television. CBS also announced the 3-year renewal for the show so it’s clear now that the show will go on till 2023 – 2024.
Some Insights on Young Sheldon Season 5
In 2020, the global health crisis forced everyone to stay in their homes and so Hollywood was no exception. All the movies and TV series shooting were shut down due to safety. So Young Sheldon was no exception. The show which usually airs in September was forced to get postponed till November. Though the sitcom was more than a month late last year, it’s safe to assume that the show is going to return on its usual time i.e. third to the fourth week of September this year.
Storyline
At this point of time, Sheldon is 11 years old and is currently in his 1st year of college. Since season 4 didn’t show any signs of wrapping up the school year so that’s going to stretch in the ongoing season as well. The show is also expected to showcase the genius father’s adventures and how he’s settling in his new life as East Texas Tech and maybe Dr. Sturgis might even come back to the school despite initially refusing to do so. It can also be supposed that Season 5 will begin the unavoidable fall out of George Sr. and Mary’s marriage.
